Crystal Cove

Oil, 10 x 8. Painted on site in January, at the end of a long walkway overlooking the water, between back-to-back heavy rainstorms, with Dave holding down my easel so it didn’t blow away in the strong wind. This was my first experience with southern California plein air painting…Not exactly the conditions I had imagined, but I ended up liking the painting. It captured the rugged colors of the landscape and the mood of the day.
