Grand Marais Paint-Out

About this time last year, I came up to the North Shore to paint and enjoy the remnants of summer. While visiting Grand Marais, I realized that the Art Colony had just sponsored a Plein Air Paint-Out, which had wrapped up on the previous day. I decided that I would return the next August, and participate. So here we are.

Yesterday afternoon we arrived in Grand Marais to register for the events. Dave then helped me set up on the beach, to get a quick couple of paintings before dark. This morning I got up around 5:00 to catch the sunrise on the water, later dropped Dave off at the golf course, and then drove up to Carlton Peak. I had painted from there last year, and wanted to try it again.
